In 2019, RBC Future Launch and Riipen launched a partnership with the goal of increasing access to high-impact work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities for Canadian post-secondary students Our shared mission: to help prepare learners, particularly those from underserved communities, for the Future of Work. By the end of 2022, the RBC-Riipen partnership has delivered over 27,000 online WIL experiences, to a wide diversity of learners and educational partners across Canada with the potential of delivering over 250,000 by 2026.

Engage with third-year students from the Leadership and Management diploma program as they explore how innovation and emerging technologies can inspire creative business solutions. These students bring a diverse skill set that includes management, accounting, global business, global citizenship, organizational behaviour, economics, supply chain, marketing, customer relationship management, business research, ethics and EDI, and leadership. While not tech specialists, they are familiar with platforms like Hootsuite, Salesforce, Weebly/Wix, MsOffice, some social media platforms, LinkedIn, and Google Analytics. This semester, we are offering students a selection of real-world challenges to choose from. You’re invited to submit a project idea aligned with your organization’s goals. Students will dedicate the term to researching, planning, and developing innovative recommendations in response to your proposed challenge.

Occupational Health and Safety Project-Fall 2025 OHS 2897

Partner with students in the Occupational Health and Safety Management program as they explore ways to identify hazards, assess their severity by applying various assessment techniques and determine the likelihood they will cause harm. They will also review any available relevant documentation. Through a comprehensive risk assessment, students will evaluate the existing controls for effectiveness and make recommendations for appropriate corrective measures in the form of a detailed plan.   The capstone project draws upon all other courses in the program to enable students to gain an experiential understanding of the real-life applications of occupational health and safety management in the workplace. Integrating the knowledge and skills gained in the program, students will assume the role of health and safety practitioners and inspect a workplace to assess and prioritize risks. List of requirements from the company: Pre-inspection contact interview (30 minutes) with the designated H&S prime (at your convenience) Access to the site for inspection Access to any previous H&S information records (past H&S inspection reports/recommendations, accident/injury reports, hazardous materials information (as appropriate) maintenance reports, safety training records, a copy of an existing floor plan of the facility and/or any other reports that would assist in better understanding the organizations current H&S practices, trends and issues Students would also require permission from their employer to identify, record, and take photographs of potential and actual hazards uncovered during the inspection.   All students participating in the safety inspection will adhere strictly to all safety procedures and company policies. This includes the mandatory use of personal protective equipment within the facility.

3rd and 4th year undergraduate students in a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program will work in 3-5 person teams to research and develop a recommendation for a negotiation or bargaining challenge faced by your organization. Students learn about how to negotiate by participating in weekly role-plays. They learn to negotiate in a variety of contexts (B2B, sales negotiations, contingency contracts, labor-union negotiations, salary & benefits negotiations, AI & bot negotiations, cross-cultural negotiations) during the 10-week semester. Students will conduct academic and market research on your negotiation or bargaining challenge. They will provide recommendations including multiple equivalent offers by combining issues according to your priorities in your negotiation or bargaining challenge. Sample areas of negotiation or bargaining projects can be in Mergers & Acquisitions, Real Estate or TV show purchases, automobile purchases, factory purchases, AI-chat bot negotiation integration into sales platform.
